That Blessed Day

Someday, I know, by the grace of God, I will stand by your side.
And we will commit to a love that will forever more abide.

On the blessed day we pledge that our lives to share.
All of our family and cherished friends will be there.

I will gently take your offered hand,
and slip on it a golden wedding band.

A symbol of our covenant of love together,
by His grace no longer two, but one, forever.

On that day my dreams come true,
all because He'll give me you.

What a faithful loving God we'll serve.
Who blesses more than we deserve.

I will wait for you my cherished wife,
and then stay yours for all my life.

You are well worth waiting for,
till the blessed day when I am yours.

Until then I'll hope and pray,
longing for that blessed day.
