Mischief is a Kitten - Copyright 5/31/98 By Dan Sharpe.

Mischief all wrapped up in fur,
from its sun warmed slumber starts to stir.

Bounding cross the silent living space,
it leaps to climb the curtain lace.

To catch a glimpse of birds in flight,
winging in the bright sunlight.

Pouncing on a tapping toe,
it learns what's meant by "hey, let go!".

Peeking around a corner it spies
a prey caught in its glassy eyes.

Purring contentedly it slips into slumber,
at the end of its day full of life and wonder.
